90% cut to overseas aid

We are horrified about the proposed cut in overseas aid to the Sahel from £340 million to £23 million a year. The Sahel is one of the poorest parts of the world and 2021 is an extremely difficult year due to conflict and poor harvests. At present 6.8 million of Mali's 20 million people are in need of humanitarian aid. Aid is getting through and it is just keeping people alive. It will cause huge suffering and people will die if it is cut. It will also cause increasing global insecurity if it is cut.
