Orchard-planting in Yorosso has begun this week. With the start of the rainy season, the young people in Yorosso in South Mali have begun planting the orchards you so generously funded through the Big Give campaign we ran in April. We were so grateful to reach our campaign target.
Everyone in Yorosso is very excited about this project - the orchards will provide young people and their families with a much better income as well as improving soil health and biodiversity. The rainy season is forecast to be extra-long until November this year, so the orchards should have a very good start. We are also planting trees in Central Mali to improve harvests, to generate income for women, and to stabilise sand-dunes.
